What is Coaching?

Coaching is a way to get more clarity, meaning, success and balance in your life. Working with a good Coach is one of the fastest and most effective ways to explore and solve challenging issues. It gives you the motivation and structure to make necessary changes in your life.

When you hire a good Coach, you are hiring someone who is skilled, intuitive and very experienced. Your Coach helps you define objectives and develop strategies so you can build a plan of action for your personal and/or business life.

Phyllis Shacter, uses various techniques and tools to help you create and live your vision, whether it is in your personal or business life. You do the "work," but Phyllis, as your Coach, supports you and guides you every step of the way so you can stay on track and make progress toward reaching your goals. The relationship you have with your Coach needs to be one that is based on trust, confidentiality and support.

Coaching is different from therapy. Whereas therapy is more concerned with "why" things occur and their origin, coaching is concerned with "how" issues can be resolved and what action steps you can take to make necessary changes. Without making a commitment to following through on a plan of action, your dreams remain only as dreams. Phyllis, as your Coach, will help you stay motivated so you follow through.

Once you're on track and achieving your goals, you no longer need a coach. The coaching process does not have to be a long term one. Phyllis has had clients who only needed one session to resolve an issue and move forward. Others have worked with her for several months or more than one year, and then check in as needed.

Anyone can benefit from the Coaching Process: a stay-at-home Mom, a student, a plumber, a teacher, a business executive, a lawyer, everyone who wants to change and grow.

Coaching can be done in person or on the phone.
Even some of her local clients prefer the convenience of having phone sessions. Email can be used as a supplement to appointments. Phyllis works internationally.
